Vision
The Little Branches Rural Roots Library Conference exists to foster learning and networking opportunities for small libraries throughout Eastern Ontario, by providing an gathering of relevant, professional workshops, sessions and plenaries for our peers.
History of LBRR
Little Branches Rural Roots Library Conference (LBRR) was founded by four librarians from Renfrew County: Karen DeLuca (Arnprior Public Library), Kelly Thompson (Renfrew Public Library), Karen Filipkowski (retired, Madawaska Valley Public Library) and Nicole Zummach (Killaloe Public Library). LBRR was launched in 2019 to support staff and management of small rural libraries. The inaugural conference was a roaring success and the follow up 2023 Spring conference provided inspiration, guidance and support for small and rural library staff and management.
The intention is to hold the conference every 18 months, and to move the conference throughout Eastern Ontario and be hosted by a number of libraries. The founding team has handed over the reins of the 2025 conference to a team of librarians from Perth and North Grenville.
